The Fuji Does New York

Jessica and I decided to try new bars in Astoria as much as we could. This night was Sweet Afton. They don’t serve hot toddies in case you were wondering. My cocktail was delicious though. I ate mac and cheese but I either deleted the picture or didn’t take one. I was probably hungry.

It was the show’s 200th performance this past Saturday and also Jonathan Larson’s birthday. For the 100th performance cake we bought it and it turned out HORRIBLY. So I decided to make it this time. And then forgot to take any pictures of it without Xavier in it. But who can complain about that adorable face? I used this yellow cake recipe with fudge frosting.

So much time stuck in my apartment means time to do recipes that I would normally never have the patience/time to do.
Soft Pretzels were day two. I have a lot of tomorrow off too, let’s see if the bug is still in me. View high resolution

Time to make some pie!

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria (#535) under the Brooklyn Bridge with Valerie. Amaze-ball pizza. Seriously. We had to wait in line for like 45 minutes to get in, but so worth it. And we worked it off with our walk back and forth over the bridge. And the fact that I didn’t exactly lead us right to Grimaldi’s helped also. Hey, sometimes I get lost also.

Walked all the way across the Brooklyn Bridge (#5 and #124) with the one and only V. Gallo. We could not have picked a better day also, so gorgeous.

Pictures all taken by Valerie.

The Highline park (#159) from Silvia’s visit to NYC.

I’ve had a summer full of visitors. It has been grand.

Sometimes my job is kind of awesome.

And by sometimes, I mean the days that I am not listening to this 14 hours a day. But I love all these people regardless.
